Back by populat demand, the annual Richmond Hill Last Night at the Proms promises to brighten your June with a new docket of symphonic delicacies, while continuing the tradition of flag waving, singing, and celebration of the standard 'Proms' repertoire, all with an RHPO twist.

Prom, short for promenade concert, originally referred to outdoor concerts in London's pleasure gardens, where the audience was free to stroll around while the orchestra was playing.

The Richmond Hill Philharmonic Orchestra is comprised of professional, amateur, and talented university and high school student musicians. The age range of the musicians span 13 years old to those with significantly more life experience. The orchestra represents cultures from across the globe and its musicians practice daily professions from every area of the community. www.rhpo.ca

The Great Lakes’ Touring Chorus is a partnership of the Brampton Festival Singers, the Headwaters' Concert Choir and Humber Valley United Church Choir. The chorus has been invited to perform in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls and sanctuaries: in 2009, performances at the Haydn Choral Music Festival, Melk Abbey, Mirabelle Palace in Salzburg, and with the Inventus choir in Prague; in 2010 they represented Canada at the 65th Anniversary of the Liberation of France by the Allies, and were invited to perform a concert from the high altar at Notre Dame de Paris; and in 2012 the choir was invited to perform at the Basilica of St. Peter (Rome) and at the Palestrina Cathedral in the Frascati region close to Rome.
