The Reel Thing Fim Series presents "Old Stone (Chinese: Lao Shi)"

The Reel Thing presents monthly engaging films for the Richmond Hill audience.

Old Stone (Chinese: Lao Shi) is a 2016 Chinese-Canadian drama film directed by Johnny Ma. It was screened in the Discovery section at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival. The film centres on Lao Shi (Chen Gang), a cab driver in China whose life spirals out of control after he hits a motorcyclist, leaving him trapped in a bureaucratic nightmare because of Chinese laws that effectively criminalize such an accident far more harshly if the driver stops to help the victim than they do if he simply leaves the victim to die.

The film was named the winner of TIFF's award for Best Canadian First Feature Film. It will be presented in Mandarin with English sub-titles.

Tickets: $10 when bought in advanced. Click here or call the box office at 905 787-8811. Tickets will also be available at the door for $12 cash.

Screenings will take place at Imagine Cinemas (formerly known as Rainbow Cinemas), located at 10909 Yonge Street, lower level.
