Week 3 - The Art Idea Exchange

Friday, July 14 to Thursday, July 20

What do you get when you put four very different artists in a common art studio for a week? Come and visit the gallery and see as a printmaker, a gouache painter, an acrylic painter, and a watercolourist exchange ideas, materials, and techniques. Should lead to some interesting discussions and art.

Silvija Hord – Mixed Media/Acrylic/Resin, Expressive

A strong element of lines and imagined colour depict an abstract element in Silvija’s artwork. Her expressive paintings combine acrylic with pen and ink.  (Work above)

Greg Chiykowski - Watercolour/Pastel - Representational Landscape

My desire in art is to convey, through my paintings, the wonder and majesty of the natural landscape.  On-site sketches capture initial impressions of a location and help etch the scene into my memories. The sketches, memories, and photographs are then combined into a finished work that hopefully captures the spirit and beauty of the place.

Katie Argyle - Printmaking

I am focused on creating large scale relief carvings for my upcoming steamroller printmaking event.

Andrea End - Reduction Linocut Printmaking

Returning to the roots of why gouache appeals to me as a medium, I am going to create simplified colour landscapes using linocut reduction printmaking.

No pictures yet for Andrea, this is a new thing for her!!

No admission fee, free parking and refreshments served.

The Mill Pond Gallery is located in the heart of historic Richmond Hill across from the beautiful Mill Pond Park.

All are most welcome!
