If you like to sing and have always had the desire to join an ensemble, now may be your chance.

Chorus York is a growing community auditioned soprano, alto, tenor and bass (SATB) choir that was formed in 2016. Driven by a passion for singing, Chorus York set out to inspire the growth of choral music in York Region through the performance of a variety of choral music ranging from Bach to Broadway, Show Tunes to Classical.

Chorus York is led by director Stéphane Potvin, an accomplished, creative conductor recognized for his impeccable technique, highly efficient rehearsal technique, and his profound and inspirational approach to music making. With more than 20 years of experience, Potvin is able to coax lyrical performances from orchestras, choirs and chamber ensembles alike. A respected composer, arranger and clinician, he also has a wealth of experience in education and adjudication.

Right now, Potvin is looking for talent to join an exciting virtual project.

Chorus York is looking for folks to participate in the creation of a Virtual Choir Performance of Jazzy and Classical Music that will be presented online at the end of June 2022. In this time of social distancing and online conferencing when in-person rehearsals are not recommended, Chorus York is exploring new avenues of artistic expression and collaboration. Singers wishing to participate should register by email to [email protected].
