From fun pop-ups to summer programs, we’ve got easy ways to get moving!
June is Recreation and Parks Month in Richmond Hill, celebrating the many ways recreation brings people together and keeps our community moving.
As a city, they support staying active for life – helping people of all ages build the confidence, skills and motivation to move more every day. All movement counts, at any age, whether you’re playing, exercising or simply moving through daily life with confidence.
Throughout June, you’re invited to join at Physical Literacy Pop-Up events happening across the community. These free events feature simple movement activities, a fun obstacle course focused on balance, coordination, strength and confidence, along with giveaways and information on ways to stay active in the community. Pop‑ups will be part of events like the Bike Rodeo and Safety Event on June 6 with York Regional Police and other community partners. Learn more at RichmondHill.ca/RecMonth.
These pop‑ups are a great way to try something new… and a first step toward making movement part of everyday life. So why stop there?
The summer recreation registration is open and their programs are a great way to stay active all summer long!
Programs are available for children, youth, adults and older adults, including fitness, sports, aquatics and skill‑building.
New this summer are flexible four‑week programs, workshops and drop‑in options, making it easier to try something new with less time commitment.
