Donation Drive to support Ukrainian newcomers

Richmond Hill Mayor David West will host a Donation Drive to support Ukrainian newcomers.

 

Together with Richmond Hill community partners, Mayor David West is happy to host a Donation Drive for Ukrainian Newcomers. 

This donation drive will help to provide families arriving in Richmond Hill with support as they reestablish themselves in Canada.  Together with the Welcome Centre, a COSTI organization, and the Nativity of the Mother of God Orthodox Church, (a church on Leslie Street with ties to the Ukrainian community)  David and his staff are working to gather the most needed items for families, including new clothes, back to school supplies, and grocery store gift cards.

Please register to drop off your donation on Saturday July 16th, between 10am and 2pm at Elvis Stojko Arena, 350 16th Avenue.  The Mayor looks forward to seeing you then to say thanks for your generosity.

Newcomers are most grateful to receive prepaid gift cards to local:

  • grocery stores
  • pharmacies
  • home supply stores

This campaign will also be happy to receive NEW donations of:

  • toiletries/personal care items
  • clothing items with tags
  • “back to school” supplies


They are not able to accept non-perishable food donations or large items at this event.

Handmade Ukrainian Hope ribbons, as well as literature about the event partners and their services, willl be distributed.
