The Life and Times of the 127th Battalion in WWI - a talk at the Central Library

Event Date:
Saturday, November 9, 2019 - 10:30am to 11:30am

The 127th Battalion was formed in 1916 from the men of York Region. They trained as an infantry unit but by the time they reached France, they had become a new type of force – Railway Troops. Their job was to construct a mobile light railway system to bring troops, ammunition and supplies right up to the front lines.

Join Chris Morris, Newmarket Historical Society, for a fascinating talk with personal ties to Richmond Hill and other surrounding communities.
