Canada declared the month of October as Islamic Heritage Month in 2007, in recognition of the contributions the Muslim community has made to this country.
It is a month that allows for our fellow Canadians to learn more about Islam, its history and its teachings. Muslims have contributed to a number of fields, including literature, mathematics, science, sports and the arts.
For the last several years, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has celebrated October as Islamic Heritage Month by organizing in person programs and iniatives to highlight the different achievements and contributions that the rich Islamic culture has provided and continues to offer today.
Additionally, this community has used this opportunity to highlight the beautiful teachings of Islam, the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet.
Everyone is invited to register for this virtual Islamic Heritage Celebration on October 17th, 11 am. More details and registration is at www.islamicheritagemonth.org
