Richmond Hill Computer Technology Volunteers Saturday Session - on-line

Event Date:
Saturday, September 18, 2021 - 9:00am to 11:00am

After a break for the summer, the Saturday Information Sessions will resume,  with the first session on September 18th.

The Richmond Hill Computer Technology Volunteers “RH-CTV” is a group of volunteer technology enthusiasts.
The group aims to enhance the digital literacy skills of seniors across our community and make them feel comfortable with what has become an integral part of modern life – computers, tablets and smartphones.

If you are an older adult and believe you could be better at using technology you will want to attend!!

The Information Session will be organized into two segments with participants able to join either of the segments or both.

9:00-10:00 am – Round Table Q&A
This segment will begin with a “Saturday Mind-Twister”, followed by a short presentation on "How technology can work for you". Topics will range from software applications and their use, or features of phones, tablets/computers, including Android, Apple or Windows O/S. A Q&A session would then follow providing attendees with the opportunity to ask questions on how technology affects you.

10:00 – 11:00 am - Tech News and Insights
This segment will provide participants with a more generalized view of technology covering different topics and how our daily lives are affected. The segment may include a more in-depth presentation or an open discussion. A Q&A session would then follow providing attendees with the opportunity to ask questions.

The Information Sessions will be held virtually until the McConaghy Centre reopens. At that time, the sessions would be held at the McConaghy Centre with the option of connecting with us virtually via Zoom for those who cannot attend in person. The in-person Information Session would be followed by an Assistance/Help Session from 11:00 – 12:00pm to assist individuals with their specific technology issues. Individuals would be required to register ahead of the Assistance Session by filling in a form and emailing it to us. The city would charge a fee for the Assistance Session as was done in the past.

Further details on our Saturday September 18th session will be in our next Newsletter.
