This is a memorial fundraising softball tournament set for June 23, 2018.
Come play ball and help homeless kids in memory of Gianluca.
Gianluca’s Gift Softball Tournament will be held at Richmond Green Sports Centre.
It is a co-ed, recreational softball event raising funds for a 360Kids residential program.
Gianluca Cellucci was a Richmond Hill student who was tragically killed in February 2016, at age 22.
A political science graduate who aspired to become a police officer, Gianluca loved playing and watching sports, lived life to the fullest and was passionate about the outdoors and social justice issues.
His grieving family and friends organized the first memorial ball tournament for 14 teams July 15, 2017 to honour his love of sports and the outdoors. $22,000 was raised to establish Gianluca’s Northern Camp Adventure Program through 360Kids.
The residential program at 360Kids, based in Richmond Hill but serving homeless youth throughout York Region, is a voluntary program that offers a combination of housing and support for youth, primarily 16-19 years of age, who are facing a housing crisis.
Gianluca’s Gift tournament is open to players of all athletic capabilities— whether recreational athletes or members of established teams.
Registration is $80 per player.
If you aren’t registering as a team, you can still participate in a fun-filled day and enjoy fresh air, good food and camaraderie.
Funds raised in the June 23 softball tournament, which runs all day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., will go towards 360Kids’ residential program.
Everyone in the community is invited to play or come out for the fun.
