Event Date:
Friday, October 12, 2018 - 6:30pm
Event Location:

Dr. Reza Moridi was the first Iranian-Canadian elected official in Canada and the first Iranian-Canadian Minister of the Crown. First elected as a Member of Provincial Parliament in 2007, he represented the riding of Richmond Hill and went on to serve in Ontario’s cabinet until June of this year. He is known in Richmond Hill, throughout the province, and among the Iranian-Canadian community, as a thoughtful leader and a dedicated public servant. Furthermore, his success in politics paved the way for many other members of the Iranian-Canadian community to become more politically aware and to become involved in various levels of government.

The purpose of the event is to celebrate Dr. Moridi’s achievements and to thank him for all that he has done for the various communities to which he belongs. At Dr. Moridi's request, the net proceeds of the event will be donated to Mackenzie Health, a hospital providing medical services to Richmond Hill community and beyond.
