National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada and it is a federal statutory holiday. It first was recognized in 2021.

It is also Orange Shirt Day.  The aim of Orange Shirt Day is to grow awarenes of the individual, family and community intergenerational impacts of Residential Schools. Homepage - Orange Shirt Society (orangeshirtday.org)

It is a day to explore the rich and diverse cultures, voices, experiences and stories of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
