The Yonge North Subway Extension will cut commute times in York Region, Toronto and beyond by extending TTC Line 1 service roughly eight kilometres north from the existing Finch Station to Richmond Hill, with five new stops along the way.
The stations includes a newly proposed transit hub at Highway 7 and Highway 407 – Bridge Station – that will conveniently connect to as many as seven future and existing regional transit lines, as well as local bus services.
By offering quick, convenient connections to other transit lines at surface level, the Yonge North Subway Extension will strengthen the transit network, which will make it easier for riders to get to destinations across the entire region.
In case you missed it, the Ontario government announced on Dec. 1, 2023, that a request for proposal (RFP) has been issued to complete tunneling work for the project.
