Majid Jowhari, MP Richmond Hill
As a long-time resident of Richmond Hill, father and husband, Majid firmly believes in strengthening our community and our country through collaboration, consultation, and mutual respect.
Immigrating to Canada at the age of 18, Majid quickly learned the importance of hard work. He earned degrees in Industrial Engineering and Business Administration before pursuing a career in business and management consulting.
Elected to the House of Commons in 2015 with subsequent re-elections in 2019 and 2021, Majid is proud to have brought and continues to provide a unique perspective to the most important issues while serving as a tireless advocate for Richmond Hill.
As the first federal nominee and candidate of Iranian heritage, Majid is also the Founder of the Parliamentary Mental Health Caucus and holds roles on Parliamentary Committees, Parliamentary Associations, and Interparliamentary Groups. With a passion for mental health, Majid is actively involved in advocating for this matter and was named as Parliamentary Mental Health Champion by the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health (CAMIMH).
Majid’s dedication to his constituency is also illustrated through his work in establishing the Richmond Hill Constituency Youth Council and securing significant amounts of funding for programs and policies that benefit the community. As a resourceful and accessible MP, Majid looks forward to hearing from you and addressing your concerns in all aspects.
