Women, treat yourself to a day-long retreat with a focus on health and wellbeing offered in coordination with Richmond Hill United Church.
Through a mix of activities, both individual, small group, and whole group, you will be invited to reflect on the ways that you offer care to yourself in your daily life.
You will be able to take time to consider acts you are finding helpful, and ways you might like to change to care for yourself more.
An hour-long Gong/Sound Bath will be one part of the day. This is an experience of lying down or sitting (in comfortable clothes) and being “bathed” in sound (no water is involved). People generally find it very relaxing and meditative.*
The stress of daily living affects us all and can prevent us from functioning at our full potential. This is a day of reflection to consider ways to continue on our journey towards greater health and wellbeing!
Facilitators:
Linda Butler is a retired United Church minister, and spiritual companion who enjoys spending time in nature. She resonates with the Celtic Christian understanding that the divine can be encountered not only in the little book of scripture, but also the big book of creation.
Jennifer Bell is a Sound Therapist at Ottawa Sound Therapy. She has been involved with community music in a variety of ways and worked in the United Church with adults and youth for many years. She gardens, canoes, reads, and practises yoga. Her first training is as a teacher.
Both Linda and Jennifer have many years of experience of facilitating retreats and workshops.
*Please be in touch if you are in the first trimester of pregnancy, have just had a bone break or fracture, or have a TBI or concussion, as these are contraindicated for gong work.
