Residents are invited to take part in a stewardship event at Timber Mill Park (300 Shirley Drive)
Hosted by LEAF (Local Enhancement & Appreciation of Forests) as part of its 30th anniversary programming, the event focuses on improving the local urban forest through hands-on stewardship.
Participants will help remove invasive species and mulch native trees and shrubs within the site’s naturalized area.
This is a free event, but registration is required. Click HERE to register.
Please note:
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult
- The event runs rain or shine
- Closed-toe shoes or boots are required
- Long pants, sleeves, and gardening gloves are recommended (extras will be available)
- The site includes unpaved paths, uneven ground, and areas of tall vegetation
This activity also qualifies toward secondary school volunteer hours.
