Local artists have begun work on various community mural projects as part of celebrations for Richmond Hill’s 150th anniversary.

Earlier this year, the City put a call out for artists to capture the community’s past, present and future.

Selected artists have now started work on these commissioned projects:

  • Community Mural: One artist is painting an outdoor, large mural on the Sports Centre Building (front/south-facing wall) at Richmond Green Sports Centre
  • City Park Storage Bunkers: Six local artists are painting murals on concrete storage bunkers at Pine Farm Park, Town Park, Eyer Homestead Ropes Course, Bradstock Park, Morgan Boyle Park and David Hamilton Park
  • Bell Box Community Murals: Six artists have been selected to paint murals on Bell Canada utility boxes throughout the City

The official unveiling will happen this fall during Culture Days.
