As the unforgiving chill of winter grips Canada, many face the harsh reality of enduring freezing temperatures without the safety and warmth of a safe place to call home.
This year, you can support individuals experiencing hunger, hurt, and homelessness by walking in Blue Door’s Coldest Night of the Year – Richmond Hill fundraising walk. February 22nd, 2025
Whether you walk 2- or 5-kilometres, donate to existing walkers, or volunteer your time, you will help ensure that everyone in our community has a safe, warm place to call home this winter.
Your support can make life-saving differences during the season when it’s needed the most.
As York Region’s largest emergency housing provider, Blue Door delivers housing, health, and employment support to the community’s most vulnerable.
“To truly prevent and end homelessness, or to make sure everyone in our community has a safe place to call home, we’ll need the support of our communities,” says Michael Braitwaite, CEO of Blue Door. “The Coldest Night of the Year event provides the opportunity for friends, families and caring community members to come together for an impactful show of support for our most vulnerable.”
The Coldest Night of the Year is a nationwide initiative.
Blue Door’s goal is to raise $150,000 to expand its vital programs and reach even more individuals in need.
