Support York Region Food for Learning Program. Buy Smile Cookies!

The School Nutrition Program is very underfunded.

A major corporate donor has stopped giving.

Government funding, at all levels, is minimal.

The $1 billion promised by the federal government for Canada's National Food Program hasn't been delivered.

A meal for a high school student can be considered to be just an apple, package of melba toast and a cheese string.

Canada is the only developing country that doesn't deliver school nutrition programs.  The US allocates $4/student per day.  There is about 3 cents for the students here.

Until we can get things corrected we need to eat Tim Horton Smile Cookies next week - November 18 to 24, 2024!!!

50% of proceeds of the Smile Cookies for this week will go to Tims Camps and 50% to York Region Food for Learning to support Student Nutrition Programs in Vaughan and Richmond Hill!

Last year, the first year for York Region Food for Learning being a recipient of the funds, about $40K was received.

There is a real desire to do more. Here's the podcast with 2 people on the board of York Region Food for Learning. Many of our students need to be fed... and are not

And the mayor of Vaughan, Stephen Del Duca  has challenged the mayor of Richmond Hill, David West, to see which municipality can buy more cookies.

And so that the stores make enough cookies let them know ahead of time that you want a box.  Come into the Tim Horton's 24-48 hours before your specified pick-up date and time.

Here's the order form. Cut and paste it and print it out and take it into one of 19 Tim Horton's in Richmond Hill.
