CCSYR is organizing a special event, HER2024, to support women in our community who are experiencing gender-based violence (GBV).
HER2024 is November 14th, 5 to 9 pm. It is an evening filled with incredible performances, delicious food and drink from local vendors, motivational stories, and the chance to network with inspirational leaders.
November 14th is shortly before the start of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. While the event promises an exciting social vibe, it also offers a pivotal opportunity to support women dealing with GBV..
This event builds on the success of CCSYR's current initiatives focusing on women, such as:
- the EmpowerHER BIPOC women's initiative
- 2SLGBTQ+ women's group
- counselling services for women
- Professional Study Groups for International Medical Graduates, and Asylum Seekers Project
HER2024 is CCSYR's first-ever fundraiser to raise the funds necessary to expand their services includiong counselling services, entrepreneurship training, and resources for women facing gender-based violence in York Region.
