For more than 30 years, Richmond Hill’s Lake Wilcox Boathouse has supported community paddling programs along the shores of Lake Wilcox. Now, this unique City-owned building is in need of major repairs — and the City wants to hear from you about what should happen next.
Located in Lake Wilcox Park, the Boathouse has been home to the Richmond Hill Canoe Club since the 1990s. Through a partnership with the City, this not-for-profit club offers a variety of programs – from beginner-friendly paddling to competitive sprint canoe and kayak training. In 2023 alone, the club welcomed over 2,500 participants from across the region.

The City is asking residents and park visitors to help shape the next chapter for this waterfront space.
- Renovate the Boathouse and continue the current partnership
- Renovate it for a new, suitable use
- Remove the building and reimagine the site
