And also they are looking for music teachers - paid positions.

High Notes Avante is extremely proud of the small pilot music program they launched in Richmond Hill last September. They are offering free individual music lessons on piano and guitar and select other instruments. Priority is given to those who have a mental health condition but others will be accepted provided we have the resources.

They are offering these programs because they believe in and have evidence that music heals. In an ideal world, everyone should have the opportunity to learn to express themselves through music.

They have had over 60 applicants and they would like to grow the program with more students and teachers beyond its borders.

Although the program is free for its participants, the teachers are paid their usual rates.

They ask that you spread the word and kindly tell all mental health providers, therapists and doctors in your network so that their clients and patients also may benefit from this program.

PIANO Lessons (& keyboard)

The piano lessons are offered at Richmond Hill United Church (10201 Yonge Street) and according to the available times and locations of our highly qualified teachers. Although we strongly recommend in-person learning, a few online learning spots are also available.

Guitar lessons are also offered at Richmond Hill United Church and around the availability of the instructors in their studios located in the same geographical vicinity.

ENSEMBLE

Playing music on your own is wonderful but for many the most rewarding things about music can be when you play together with others. If you already know how to play an instrument, email [email protected] to be part of one of the bands or orchestras they are forming.
