Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem, experiencing the worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis.
Just like physical first aid is provided until medical treatment can be obtained, MHFA is given until appropriate support is found or until the crisis is resolved.
A person skilled in MHFA can make an immediate difference, by providing initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health crisis.
This interactive (online and instructor-led) course leads to a certificate from the Mental Health Commission of Canada and teaches participants practical and evidence-based skills in order to provide mental health first aid.
Date & Time: Thursday, June 6th 2024, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
It is a virtual event.
The program is facilitated by Susan Kagan. She may be contacted at [email protected]
